Rating by category:
The price, could not get the government rate because they said we booked online. This will get forwarded to my superiors
Parking a little expensive - breakfast could be improved
Early morning track noise
Location and view
I booked the room as it was suppose to be wheelchair accessible and have a wheelchair bathroom and it had neither which was very disappointing
View of the waterfront and access to shopping downtown
No parking ,only one elevator running when hotel was sold out, needs lots of upgrades older hotel has large bar that was never open and a outside patio that was not open on friday night
The staff at front desk were very friendly and kind. It was very reasonable price for this excellent location with breakfast. I was very confertable during my stay.
Often I had to wait for the elevator.
Location - close to all tourist attractions
Parking wasn't available as advertised. Building was very tired. Only one working, very slow elevator
No elevators working. No access to park the car due to construction which we were not advised. Having a cocky female hostess at the front desk that tried to justify her point that the parking was explained ahead of time which was not. Rooms not vacuumed and very dusty, cleanliness mediocre, hair found in bedsheets, windows dirty. Main floor washrooms smell bad and dirty. Not impressed in any way. There was no effort made to make the customer feel welcomed. No token in room shown for the inconvenience hotel going under construction. It is good that you did offer a complimentary mediocre breakfast at no charge. Room way too expensive for what we had, not worth more than 80 $ a night.
Only the location and nothing else!
It was right on the waterfront and very close to the downtown area.
The parking garage was not operational. The pay parking lot across the street was full. The next closest parking lot was closed to public parking for some kind of an 'event' so I had to park in a public parking garage several blocks away. Almost every hotel I have ever stayed at provides free parking. I was very surprised that this hotel did not. The elevators were not operational either. My room was on the 4th floor !!! Even though I was given a discount for the elevator situation I would rather have paid full price for a hotel with operational elevators.
I liked the location.
The elevator and parking was broken, we had to find out own parking. .
The hotel staff were pleasant.
There were no elevators working (we got a $40 discount but not worth it) and no parking!!! We had to drive around for quite awhile, and finally got a parking spot across the street from the hotel in a parking lot - cost about $20 for the overnight stay - dragging suitcases across the busy street. My brother had to walk 8 blocks with his suitcase. The hotel windows were filthy and it seems the hotel is becoming run down a bit, especially considering they have not had the parking garage up and running for 15 months. I would rather spend more money and get more comfort somewhere else.
It is impossible to find a hotel that provides smoking rooms. This is the main reason why we choose the Confederation Hotel. The atmosphere and friendliness of the staff and the area is a definite plus.
Although the staff were excellent ,we did not like the parking facilities If we had taken the car out we would have been charged more, so had to leave the car where it was across the road from the hotel. Of course having the elevators not working was not so good but again the staff were excellent.
I have stayed here many times in the past however the hotel appears to be in decline. There was a collapse in the parking level 15 months ago and there seems to be little progress in reestablishing parking facilities. The elevators were out of order for which we received a 25% discount.
Location -- it's just besides Canada Day celebration site. You can watch fireworks from your room if you have a lakeview room.
Breakfast area is too crowded.
